Are you pumping them full of poison?
Are you teaching them dangerous habits?
That may be EXACTLY what you’re doing if you’re passing on an obese lifestyle to your children. We all know that a child’s most important teacher is their parents. They watch everything you say and do and that becomes the blueprint for their lives. So look at your health. Are you passing on the blueprint you want for your family? Are you teaching them about healthy eating? Are you showing them that exercise is a priority in your life?

We all know that children who live in homes with a smoker are much more likely to become smokers. Well the same thing is true when kids live in a home of obesity. It’s time for you to be the LEADER in your family. It’s time for you tomake a difference in your families long term health. Come try out a FREE ATAFit class. I want to share this video with you with the hope that it touches you in someway. Many of us go through our daily lives with little real inspiration. We walk through life as zombies or shells of the person we really could be. Take a look at this video and watch as a man with no arms or legs lives a more fulfilling life then most of the people you pass on the street.
At Hayden’s ATA we strive everyday to get people to live with the kind of passion that this man has. We understand that self-defense is about more then kicking and punching. The man in this video couldn’t kick or punch a thing but I’m sure he’s already defended himself against so many attacks in life.
If you’re interested in joining a group of like minded individuals looking to improve their lives then give us a call. We’d be happy to have you come join our ATA family. 1-866-858-2102

This year’s theme at the ATA World Championships was Determination. Destination. We all got to hear some AMAZING stories of people having great determination on their way to their destination. I want you to check out this site and do what I did…Set a destination! At World Championships we were given pledge cards to write our Destinations on. I want you to do the same. ATA has set up a website to let members across the organization (and non-members) write their destination (goal) for the next year. Throughout the next year they will be profiling more individuals, and who knows, you might be one of them!
Visit the site Click HERE and set your destination today!
Watch this movie…and then read what I think below:
We’re expecting to little! Look at this young man who basically has NOTHING. Look what he’s dreamed up and achieved. We sit in our fancy houses with our fancy toys and live lives dead of imagination, drive, and inspiration. I’m not saying we should all go out and get rid of all our stuff but if that would drive us to achieve then maybe we should.
We expect to little of our children, our friends, and especially ourselves. Complacency and the idea of being “average” is killing us slowly. We will all be left in the dung heap of history if we don’t wake up and aspire to be this poor kid from a third world nation.
My parents have always taught me that “average is the enemy of excellence.” That’s something my students hear me say all the time. I’m trying to build a school, a community, of people who are the next generation of great innovators, thinkers, and DOers! Obviously one martial arts school can’t do it alone but if we get enough people talking about it, thinking about it, and taking ACTION then we can make a difference.
Do me a favor.
Expect more.
Expect more of yourself and those around you.
Hayden’s ATA is willing to help push you to expect more if you need a hand. Feel free to give us a call and come try it out, see what we have to offer. 1-866-858-2102
Also, a friend of mine developed a great program to help kick your life into gear if you’re feeling like you aren’t expecting enough of yourself. Check it out here: Master’s Journey
Over the summer Hayden’s ATA is profiling some REAL Karate Kids in honor of the new movie The Karate Kid in theaters now! Just like Mr. Han in the movie, we teach more then kicking and punching. Today we’d like to introduce you to a REAL Karate Kid who’s been with us for quite some time, Ethan Kessler.
Ethan started martial arts when he was only 4 and has been training hard ever since. Check out what his grandparents had to say about his training:
“Ethan joined ATA the same month that he turned four, five and a half years ago. We wanted to work on his attention span and felt that the ATA training would help. The training that he recieves, the memorization and concentration required to advance in belts had helped him tremendously in school. Ethan was very clumsy and accident prone, we wanted him to learn coordination.
“Another big reason was that we wanted him to know self-defense. We wanted him to know danger and how to handle it. He learned that you have to respect others, before you earn their respect. (Martial Arts) has built leadership skills in him, making him want to help others. It has helped build his self-confidence, learning that you must work hard to accomplish your goals.
“He has discovered that hard work does pay off, and this too has carried over into his school work. As we started attending tournaments we stressed that he does his best, but our number one reason for attending was to have fun. It was always reqarding to see that big smile when he recieved a trophy.

“The new friends that he has meet, from students to instructors to the Grand Master have been priceless. The friendsthat he has made here at Hayden’s ATA will be cherished forever.”
Ethan is an excellent example of a REAL Karate Kid! He’s learned, and demonstrated, that martial arts is about more then kicking and punching. Martial arts is about life and achieving the most you can out of it.

Over the next few weeks Hayden’s ATA is profiling some REAL Karate Kids in honor of the new movie The Karate Kid coming to theaters on June 11th. Today we’d like to introduce you to our first REAL Karate Kid, Shobi Simonton.
Shobi started martial arts at a very young age and has been a model student. Here’s what his mother had to say about his training and experiences with martial arts:
“When Shobi was 6 years old he was very sick with a virus called Kawasaki disease. This disease was very hard on his body, it left him very weak and he lost his coordination. He literally had to learn to walk all over again. We wanted to find something that not only would interest him but help him regain his coordination. Taekwondo seemed to be the perfect fit. He could get individual attention and learn at his own pace.
“As time went on, it was good to see him progress in his strength and coordination. It gave him self confidence. Before long he was jumping, kicking, and breaking boards. Memorizing the forms was an excellent way to keep his mind focused and we noticed that it helped him a lot in school. The longer we were in Taekwondo the more we saw the many benefits of this sport. We started taking him to tournaments where “to

compete is to win” was the attitude. Here you didn’t have to be the toughest, or the best, you were here to enjoy your sport and meet new friends from all over the country. It gave him courage and confidence in himself.
“Shobi liked the ATA so much that when asked if he wanted to try any other sports he said no that he liked that in ATA he could learn many different things like, the many different weapons, sparring, board breaking, self defense, new forms, a fun workout exercise class, and now a fun leadership class. He says its like learning several different sports to him. He has been in the ATA for 7 years now and we have seen him grow in so many ways. He is now learning in
leadership class how to be a good leader and ways to support our community. It has taught him how to be a kind and respectful person. These are good skills that he will carry with him throughout his life as an adult.
“The ATA is all about family. As a family we are all very involved in showing others what a great sport taekwondo is and how you can continue to stay in this sport for the rest of your life.”
Shobi is an excellent example of a REAL Karate Kid! He’s learned, and demonstrated, that martial arts is about more then kicking and punching. Martial arts is about life and achieving the most you can out of it.
